The Fatima Way between Coimbra and Fátima, called Rota Carmelita, is inspired by the life and work of Sister Lúcia, one of the three Little Shepherds who in 1917 had the privilege of seeing Our Lady. In 1947, Sister Lúcia joined Carmelo de Santa Teresa in Coimbra and lived here until her death in 2005. This route starts in Coimbra and, over a little over 100 km, invites you to discover the tranquility of a rich region in landscape, culture and traditions.
The route between Porto and Fatima, has an extension of about 230 km and integrates the so-called Caminho do Norte, using the vast majority of its extension the Camino de Santiago, in the opposite direction and therefore making use, whenever possible, of paths side roads and trails of great scenic beauty.
